About our lessons

Online lessons

What we offer:

One-to-one lessons with an experienced teacher, both online and in person.

What instruments do we teach:

We currently offer tuition on the following instruments:

However, we hope to add further instruments to this list in the future, so if you can't see what you're interested in, send us a message and we'll keep you up to date as we introduce more lessons.

Lessons times:

Lesson times vary depending on the instrument. We are currently offering face-to-face and online tuition on Saturdays for piano, guitar and drums during shop hours (9.30am to 5pm), and have Sunday and weekday lessons available for guitar and piano. Violin lessons are available on weekdays. However, we are always introducing new lesson times and we have some flexibility with online lessons so do get in touch for more information. NB: Lessons must be booked at least 48-hours in advance.

Cost:

Lessons are £18 per half-hour. We take bookings in blocks of 5 or 10 lessons, with discounts available. See our FAQs for more information.

Our facilities:

Our teaching rooms are based at JG Windows Ltd in Newcastle City Centre. Our piano rooms are equipped with Yamaha Clavinovas and we use Alesis Nitromesh kit for our drum lessons. Students have access to onsite toilet facilities and designated waiting areas.

Online lessons:

If you are unable to come into the shop, or would prefer not to travel, we can offer the same expert tuition from the comfort of your own home. Getting set up is easy! You will need:

  • a phone, tablet or laptop with a built-in camera and mic (or separate components if you have them)

  • a wifi connection (or the ability to plug directly into your router for a better signal)

  • something to rest the device on so that you can get the right angle for a good view of you and your instrument

  • a free Skype or Zoom account

NB: If the student is under 18, the e-mail address attached to the Skype or Zoom account must belong to a parent or guardian and not the student. An adult must be in the room for the duration of the lesson.
